Alexis Payton, born and raised in Raleigh, NC., began dancing at the age of 3. She studied dance in school and at her local dance studio, Carolina Dance Center. After landing roles in Carolina Ballet’s The Nutcracker, she yearned for more rigorous training leading her to attend various summer intensives at Atlanta Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, the Rockettes, and the Rock School for Dance Education.

Alexis went on to obtain a B.S.P.H. in Environmental Health Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel with Distinction and Highest Honors. While in college, she joined Kamikazi, a collegiate choreography-based dance team, performing across North Carolina and Virginia. Alexis was invited to guest with Olney Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker as a part of the Snow and Flower Corps. Upon graduation, she continued her studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill receiving a M.S. degree in Environmental Sciences & Engineering.

Alexis now resides in New York City performing as a Radio City Rockette performing in the Christmas Spectacular as well as the Today Show, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She continues to work remotely in the UNC Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma, and Lung Biology (CEMALB) as a data analyst.
